A closed door

Picture
It was a Friday morning in June and our boy Zeus a 90 lb. Labrador did not feel well for days and was not getting better. I did not sleep much trying to keep his fever down.

My husband and I picked him up to put him in the back of our SUV. We were up early to get to the vet because I had a busy day at work, and I wanted to make sure I took care of Zeus before I left. The vet had an emergency and was not available. We were asked to bring him back. I was so thankful my husband was able to call in and miss work to take Zeus.

I was in my office for a couple of hours working when I was called in to my Supervisor's Office. I was told that my position was eliminated! Yes, after being in this career for 19 year's the door was closing.

Of course I was taken back, I had to gather myself and stand in faith knowing all was going to be ok and trust! I grabbed my purse and drove to the vet to be with Zeus and husband and take care of the things that were dear to me!

I took the weekend to get myself ready to stay to the requested time asked. I knew deep down inside that was the push that I needed to create the Grounded & Joy-Fueled Planner and the other things in my heart!

A door closed in an area that I never imagined would. We don't know or can ever predict what God has in store for us. I am excited to see what God will do in this business venture. I give it to Him and am thankful for the beautiful open door that I am walking through to help girls and woman with growth and purpose!

my why and the Creation of the Grounded & Joy-Fueled Planner

Picture
I am so excited that you are here. My mother was my first teacher. Pulse to my world and mentor. When I was about 5 years old, I was overwhelmed with love and said, “Mom, I don’t know what I would do without you!” She responded in her beautiful voice, “Mija, love Jesus more than me because I will not always be here. God is. If you do this, you will always be taken care of and won’t be alone!" I was so confused and just cried because I didn’t want to imagine a world without her.

When she passed away April 2009, I was 39. My world was broken. I found her journals sitting at her desk. As well as her Bible that had highlighted and underlined bible verses, prayers and her handwriting. It was so beautiful. Sister, do you have any idea how much this empowered me and healed me during this difficult time? I whispered, "I understand now mom, I get it, loving Jesus has taken care of me!"

After life's journey of many trials, pain, forgiveness and lessons learned, I felt a tug deep within me to share my life and walk. I needed to write and leave my words for my children. I wanted to help young girls and woman be empowered, grounded, and Joy-Fueled in God's Word. So, they could be inspired to build a strong foundation as they shine with all the beautiful facets that make them who they are. We have so much noise in this world and we need to be rooted so our leaves will always be green!

The Grounded & Joy Fueled Planner is created to inspire change. God has a purpose, a plan and a vision for each one of us that only we can fulfill. Yes, lovely one let's do this together!

They will be like a tree planted by the water that sends out its roots by the stream.  It does not fear when heat comes; its leaves are always green.  It has no worries in a year of drought and never fails to bear fruit.” Jeremiah 17:8

a season of being in the gap

Picture

Have you ever been in a place of not knowing? A place of being at the end of one thing and the beginning of something?

It may be a difficult place, and you may feel many emotions like some of these:

 -Confused because it was forced?
- Fear of the unknown?
- Excited because you needed change?
- Hurt because you were not prepared?
- You have something inside of you that you want to create, and this is the push you needed?

I have been in almost all these emotions and place at one time or another. Yes, of course you need to feel all the emotions in order to move forward.

If you need to forgive start that process. Pray for a healed heart.

If you need a plan of action take the time to sit, and write it out. There is something so incredible about putting things on paper.

If you feel overwhelmed do something that you love and evokes the feeling of happiness.

In all these places you are required to move, the action may seem like a small step but it’s truly incredible once you have felt what your feeling, and identified what you need to do.

In all these feelings and places it is incredibly life changing to have a gratitude list. Gratitude changes your mindset and prepares us for next steps.

What are you next steps friend?

Love, Laughter and Gratitude,
Regina

How do you cultivate a habit of Gratitude?

Picture

How do you cultivate a habit of gratitude?

Well first let’s listen to the thoughts and hear the words that come out of our mouths. I was surprised when I really took my thoughts and words captive. I had to plant so many new seeds!

I had to pull all that self doubt, things people said to me, and even what I said about myself. The negative that I kept hearing had to be replaced! I changed the thoughts and words to positive. Yes, I slipped sometimes...as a matter of fact I still do but retract it back and say thank you really quickly! It really does change how you view things. It changes perspective. Allows us to view the issue/problem in a different angle. To conquer it! I encourage you to sit down and write a negative thought and replace that thought with positive. Say the positive out load and claim the positive!

Our heart is connected to our thoughts and words. God wants our heart to be connect to Him! So we hear what we are in Christ and what He says about us as a Daughter of the Highest King!

give thanks in all circumstances; for this is God’s will for you in Christ Jesus. 1 Thessalonians 5:18

Love and Laughter,
Regina

Our Walking route

Picture
This is our boy Zeus he is our 90 lb. mixed Labrador and he is 6 years old. Well this big one taught me a lesson. We take Zeus and Peanut for walks. My hubby walks Peanut and I walk Zeus.

Well, you must know they take their walks seriously! They are on a mission to move forward with a fast trot as if they are in a parade. They know the route. We could see from a distance a big dog and on the opposite end quite a ways from us men working with big trucks. For precaution we tried to avoid this and I stopped and Zeus kept moving forward with his 90 lbs of force. I said ""Stop" and he did but his stance in the same place moving forward! He hates to get pulled back he is on a mission. And moving sideways we'll that is not an option he doesn't like either. I have to get my hand and gently turn him, and say, "Come on let's go this way boy." Because he has a mission friends, he has a pace that he walks and moving forward is what he loves!

I said out loud, "Geez this dog is stubborn!" At that moment I thought is this what I look like when I don't see the big plan God has for me? I think I have to keep moving forward, and if I don't we'll what have I accomplished? And going sideways well that is just going to take longer! Hehe who am I to talk? I have been stubborn many times in my life too.

Work on my heart Lord for you know the plans and direction I have to go! We went for a longer beautiful walk and seen things we wouldn't have seen from our normal route! They loved their walk! That stubborn Zeus sure taught me a lesson.

God knows all that is good for me. I can't see ahead, I need to stop, move and listen!

For I know the plans I have for you," declares the LORD, "plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future. Jeremiah 29:11

When God takes over

Picture
I was at the heaviest weight I have been in my life, my marriage was struggling, my health was in decline, and I couldn’t even stand to make a healthy dinner without having pain and burning in my legs. I didn’t have women to turn to because the pain from past friendships turned me away. I didn’t want to deal any added drama.

I had a smile on my face but behind it I had so much pain. I was always doing, always giving and never stopping! I had given so much that I had no more to give.

I needed help and cried to God! I knew I needed to repair and build myself from the bottom up. I was carrying pain and so much unforgiveness. I needed to see that the most important person to give to at this point was myself. That is when it all changed! I needed to see my mess, my dirt and get back to who I was created to be! It started with taking responsibility for myself.

I have read many books, but nothing has changed me like God’s word has. It’s not just reading it, it’s doing the foundation work and putting it into action. There are steps to building momentum and change.

We can only control ourselves. The use of our words and our thoughts are extremely powerful. Once you apply the foundation work only then will you be able to thrive!

The scriptures have the power to create change! I thank Jesus every day for my new life in Him! It’s the complete opposite of what it was. Change and growth is still occurring and a daily thing and constant thing, sister.

Sharing my journey to empower girls and women along with being the wife, mother, sister and friend that my family needs fuels me!

Let's allow God take over amazing one!

Laughter and Love,
Regina
